Guide · Menopause & strength

Strength training through menopause: what helps, honestly.

Perimenopause and menopause change how your body responds to training, food, sleep and stress. Strength work is one of the few things that reliably helps on several fronts at once — without promising miracles.

What's changing

Falling oestrogen affects muscle, bone, joints, sleep and how your body handles stress. Many women find that the training and eating that used to work suddenly doesn't, that recovery is slower, and that energy is less predictable. That isn't a failure of willpower — it's physiology.

02

Why strength work in particular

Lifting weights supports bone density at exactly the time bone loss speeds up. It helps maintain muscle, which supports metabolism and joint stability. Many women report better sleep, steadier mood and more confidence in their body once they've been lifting for a couple of months.

We're not doctors and we won't make medical claims. What we can say is that progressive strength training is widely recommended through menopause, and that most women who start wish they'd started sooner.

  • Bone density support
  • Muscle maintained, joints better supported
  • A sense of control when a lot feels out of control

What to expect in the gym

Some days you'll feel strong; some days you won't, and a coached environment adapts to that. Sessions at KORE are programmed but flexible — loads and volume are adjusted to how you're feeling on the day, not how a spreadsheet says you should feel.

You'll train in a small group of adults, many of whom are dealing with exactly the same things. Nobody is competing.

04

A sensible way to start

Two coached strength sessions a week, one lighter conditioning session, and a focus on learning the movements properly. Give it a month before judging it.

That's what the 30 Day Coached Trial is for — no tie-in, just a fair test of whether this suits you.

Thirty days, coached.
Then decide.
